The Labour Minister gave a press conference at the event to celebrate the ILO’s 100th anniversary, inviting workers, employers, associates and interested people to attend the event on April 11th at the Ministry of Labour. The event will host a book launch on the organization’s history, have postage stamps for sale and sign national plan on valuable work and development of healthy relationships in all dimensions of labour.
On March 18, 2019, Labour Minister H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo gave a press conference on the celebration of the International Labour Organization’s 100th anniversary of the at Jompol P. Pibulsongkram Meeting Room on the 5th floor, Ministry of Labour. In his speech, he said that Thailand and the International Labor Organization (ILO) had maintained a long history of close relations, where Thailand became a member in 1919. On the ILO’s 100th anniversary in 2019, Thailand is honoured to be one of 24 ILO member countries participating in the event held continuously around the world, with 1 hour per country. Thailand will broadcast live fourth on April 11, 2019, during 10.00 – 11.00 hours.
Pol.Gen. Adul further said that the event will sign Thailand’s first edition of the Decent Work Country Program (DWCP), between representatives of the Ministry of Labour, employer organizations, employee organizations and the ILO, as a roadmap to drive concrete results, so that everyone can step across every dimension in the future in a smooth working world. The plan was a result of collaboration from all parties including employers and employees who saw the context and situation of the future world of work and brought problems to study, analyze and jointly formulate this DWCP as a framework for the collaboration with Thailand. The plan aims to achieve the goal of promoting valuable work for everyone, whereby the ILO supported the operation to completion.
The Ministry of Labour, therefore, invites workers, employers and associate organizations to attend the ILO’s 100th anniversary on April 11, 2019, at the Jompol P. Pibulsongkram Meeting Room, 5th Floor, Ministry of Labour. Activities include the launch of the 100 years of Thai-ILO relations history book which is specially prepared and commemorative postage stamp for sale in the event. Visitors will get to understand the relationship between Thailand and the ILO and the development of labour over the past century to date, where there has been a robust tripartite collaboration with employers, employees and the ILO, to the extent that Thailand can resolve problems and obstacles in every dimension of labour, achieving success with pride together.
