15 December 2023. Thai Chamber of Commerce, together with Board of Trade of Thailand and the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare, Ministry of Labour, organized the seminar on “GLP for Industry and Sustainable in Thailand”.
Dr. Poj Aramwattanon, Vice President of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Chamber’s Labour and Skill Development Committee, said the seminar was part of the implementation of the MOU on Good Labour Practices (GLP), signed in September 2022 by Thai Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trade of Thailand, and Ministry of Labour. The goal is to promote GLP awareness among the members of the Chamber.
Under the MOU, the Chamber’s Labour and Skill Development Committee has ensured that GLP is prioritized among the network of trade associations and entrepreneurs around the country. Currently, 27,785 businesses in Thailand have implemented GLP to enhance employees’ quality, covering 2,048,650 workers, and 1,261 businesses have used GLP logo as part of creating a good corporate image.
To improve workers’ quality of life and prevent labor rights violations and human trafficking in the value chain, interested Thai Entrepreneurs are encouraged to adopt the GLP.
